Gute Nachrichten! Germany’s working holiday visa is now available to Australian citizens aged 18-35.

Germany increased the age limit from 30 to 35 on 1 October 2026. It follows the Australian government also increasing the age limit for German citizens to apply for an Australian working holiday visa from 30 to 35, which happened in July 2026.

Australia also recently increased the age limit for citizens of South Korea, Cyprus or Finland to apply for an Australian working holiday visa to 35. These countries have not yet increased the age limit for Australian applicants, but that is likely to happen at some point as these are generally two-way visa agreements.
